 For some, crossdressing is about play, performance, or escape. For me, it became a doorway into self-recognition. The moment I stopped asking, Am I just dressing up? and started asking, Who am I when I dress this way?—that’s when I realized my journey was about more than clothes.

One identity doesn’t cancel out the other. I don’t think of it as switching masks, but more like stepping into different rooms of the same house. Each room has its own atmosphere, its own circle of friends, its own responsibilities—and yet they’re all mine.

I’ve learned that most partners aren’t upset about the panties or the dresses—they know this part of us isn’t going away. What hurts them is everything else: the pressure to do things they’re not ready for, the money spent on clothes instead of bills, the photos posted after agreeing not to, the lies. Those moments aren’t about crossdressing at all, but about choices, behavior, and respect.

I have learnt that not every man wearing feminine clothes and lingerie is accepting to be called a cross dresser. As much as I don't think it is an insulting term in any way, I can see how our community is divided in this matter.

I guess for me, it was not really about 'cross' dressing but about 'sexy' dressing. That is, I first thought about wearing supposedly female only clothing because it is generally much more sexy and interesting than supposedly male only clothing. Why can't I have lacy underwear, stockings, suspenders, a dress that reveals my shoulders and back, six inch heels with sparkles, etc. just because I can grow a beard?
